I’m relatively new to boating so not 100% up to speed on all the rules and regulations for various equipment yet, so let’s save that discussion for last.As far as size, visibility, build quality and functionality, this is 5 stars. It will make a perfect replacement for the very aged vinyl coated foam life ring that is on my current 25′ sailboat. Though the HDPE surface is more slippery than the softer vinyl wrap, it does have a perimeter rope, which is what you will ultimately grab on to. It also comes with plenty of throwing/towing rope…which is missing from my current setup.
