I purchased this product in hopes of preventing the annual bug infestation to my roses. I used as directed, and the bugs are not as bad as they usually are on the roses. However, I also noticed that the blooms only last a day or two after using this product on them. They seem to burn/dry up and die very quickly, so I’m not getting to enjoy my beautiful flowers for long this year. In the past I used sprays versus the pellets that you sprinkle over the soil, and this worked well, except you’d have to keep applying frequently. With the granules, you don’t have to apply as frequently, so it is more convenient, but you’re sacrificing the blooms for the overall health of the plant/leaves. Also, after using, the buds are MUCH smaller than normal and sometimes they don’t even open all the way— like half of the bud dies before it opens. So I ended up with several half dead blooms— literally: half of the bloom is dried up and dead and the other half is alive and well. I think, moving forward, I may pre-treat the shrubs before they start to bloom. Overall, this product helps with the bugs, so technically it does “work”. But I’m not thrilled with the results.
